« FINDING SHADOWS IN NATURE »

An encounter between shadow puppetry and nature. Come and discover shadow puppet theatre as you have never seen it, with branches, leaves, grass, and moss! Paper shadow puppets will first teach you the basic techniques. Then create shadows like an artist - you will create characters from dried leaves, shadows of plants using paint, drawings on transparent surfaces, and then come and enter the world of three-dimensional shadows. With natural objects that you will collect yourself, you will create sculptures and explore their shadows. The light is like your camera that you will use to explore the sculpture from all its angles. A workshop where you will discover shadows as you have never experienced them before.

This workshop was developed over a 6-month residency in the primary school in Mouzay (France), during the 'Création en cours' project organised by les Ateliers Médicis. It is during this residency that Théâtre de l'Heure Bleue pursued research for Souffle de la Terre, its new, in progress performance, on the theme of the relationship between the human being and nature.

« BIRTHS AND METAMORPHOSES »

A workshop of giving life to puppet paper creatures. Paper is a raw material that opens a space for all possibilities to exist, it is the perfect tool to channel our imagination! Through drawing, we begin by giving shape to creatures we invent around the theme of births and metamorphoses. Kraft paper is then used to give life to these creatures and images we will then animate by learning puppet manipulation techniques. The workshop ends with a a performance of small scenes created in groups.

This workshop was developed thanks to a PAG project (Projets Artistiques Globalisés) in collaboration with the Felt Museum in Mouzon (France), financed by la DRAC Grand Est (Direction Régionale des Affaires Culturelles).
